Top-tier cryptocurrency exchanges set the highest daily record volume for 2020 last month, according to new research by CrymptoCompare.
In the latest edition of the Exchange Review report, crypto data aggregator CryptoCompare has shown that daily volumes for top-tier exchanges reached a record high for the year on September 3. According to the report, daily trading volume reached $27.6 billion, up from the previous high of $27.1 billion established on July 27.
Despite establishing a YTD high in daily volume, September witnessed an overall decline in trading volume. Top-tier volumes decreased 19% from August to $429 billion, while Lower-Tier volumes fell 15 percent to $248 billion.
The report reads,
Although monthly Top-Tier exchange volume has seen a decrease since August, daily volumes reached a record for the year on the 3rd of September 2020 where $27.6bn was traded. The previous high for the year was $27.1bn on the 27th of July 2020.
Trading activity across all spot markets dwindled throughout September compared to August, as the price of bitcoin dipped below $11,000.
