The XRP wallet and payment platform XUMM launched its public beta on Google Play and iOS App store.
XUMM, created by the Ripple-backed XRPL Labs, allows users to store and send cryptoassets on its XRP-powered, decentralized platform.
According to an update published on the platform’s official website
XUMM is an app (for iOS and Android) to access the XRP ledger. XUMM makes sending, receiving and interacting with the XRP ledger easy & secure.
Users can interact with third-party applications via the platform’s sign requests feature. Developers and e-commerce vendors can also leverage the XUMM platform to send sign requests and invoices to app users as a form of payment.
Wietse Wind, lead developer of XUMM, took to Twitter to explain the value of the new decentralized platform.
Peer to peer payments, retail payments, initiated by the retailer, e-commerce payments, wallet for the XRPL, multi currency. Safe and user friendly integration with 3rd party XRPL apps for eg. Multi Signing, trading, user identification, etc.

XUMM is leveraging itself as a tool for developers and retailers as a seamless platform for crypto payments.
The update reiterates the application is still in its beta form and may contain bugs. Users are warned not to use the beta version of the application with their high-value accounts.
