Support CryptoGlobe and Brave by trying out the Brave browser.
The cryptocurrency powered Brave browser has surpassed 10 million monthly active users after coming out of beta in October thanks to the press coverage it received.
According to a press release, Brave had 8.7 million monthly active users in October and, by the end of November, it hit 10.4 million, representing a 19% increase across all platforms. Behind the user surge were positive press reviews related to it coming out of beta with the release of its privacy-preserving ads for iOS devices.
The press release details that in one year, Brave doubled its monthly active users. Moreover, the number of daily active users “tripled in the last 12 months, to 3.3 million.” Users have been getting behind the crypto-powered browser as it blocks ads and trackers by default, and through its basic attention token (BAT) rewards users for viewing ads that respect their privacy.
The press release further noted that verified content creators, who are eligible to be rewarded in BAT, have grown 28x since the beginning of the year, partly thanks to the addition of new platforms. Brave now has 340,000 verified content creators from not only websites but also platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, GitHub.
Brave’s ads that reward users with BAT are currently available in a total of 33 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Venezuela, Japan, Peru, and Singapore, as back in October the browser added 20 new countries to the program.
Earlier Brave partnered with Everipedia, the world’s largest blockchain-based encyclopedia resource, to increase brand awareness. The goal of the collaboration is to promote both brands, and as part of the deal Brave was to be featured on the homepage of Everipedia’s index.
