Since launching in July 2018, Travala has established itself as the leading blockchain-based booking platform for crypto users and prides itself as a “champion of cryptocurrency adoption.” The startup operates a native token called AVA, which has a protocol based upon the NEO network. However, users are able to pay in fourteen different crypto-assets, including bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum and XRP.
Earlier in the year, the platform introduced fiat payments in the form of PayPal and four major credit card providers. The company claims to have the goal of covering more than 1.5 million properties, bookings, accommodations, etc. by the end of 2019.
