A major cryptocurrency exchange, Austria-based Bitpanda, has announced it will add support for the popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency Floki Inu ($FLOKI) on March 17, in what is another major listing for the cryptocurrency.
Floki has over the last few months been added to several major cryptocurrency trading platforms including OKEx, WazirX, DigiFinex, and others. The cryptocurrency will now be available to Bitpanda’s 4 million users, who will be able to trade it against the European fiat currency, the Euro.
The exchange has, along with the listing, announced a giveaway of a total of 1 billion $FLOKI tokens to those within its Bitpanda Spotlight program. As the official FLOKI account noted, the listing will make it easier for users to buy FLOKI with EUR.
As CryptoGlobe reported, FLOKI, the utility token of the Floki ecosystem, which “offers a 3D NFT Metaverse, DeFi utilities, a crypto education platform, NFTs, a merchandise store, and more,” became a top 100 cryptocurrency by market capitalization this year.
The Floki Inu team hopes to increase demand and utility for the token with the launch of its FLOKI-powered Metaverse combat game called Valhalla, which contains in-game creatures that can be purchased with FLOKI or another in-game currency.
Additionally, FLOKI will allow users to make various other purchases within the game, and the game’s developers plan to burn a significant amount of FLOKI tokens permanently, further reducing the circulation supply and potentially increasing its scarcity and value.
Floki Inu has surged over 300% year-to-date, and recently published a roadmap revealing the project t aims to become the most known and used in the cryptocurrency space. The roadmap includes a complete phase that saw the launch of a merch store, a partnership with Binance Pay and Pyth Network, and the launch of a Chinese version of its whitepaper.
The roadmap also includes a second phase, which involved the launch of a redesign for FlokiFi and a debit card for the project, before a third phase would include the release of a public version of the University of Floki.
A fourth phase would see the release of the mainnet of Valhalla, as well as a Chinese version of the play-to-earn NFT game. The team also alluded to a “mystery project.”
