Floki Inu ($FLOKI) fans finally have a chance to try the hotly anticipated first playable version of Floki’s flagship play-to-earn (P2E) metaverse-inspired game.

What Is Valhalla?

According to the documentation on the Floki website, Valhalla is “FLOKI’s NFT Metaverse game that will be powered by the FLOKI token.” It will “feature A-level game mechanics on the blockchain” (note that this “includes on-chain gaming interactions and upgradeable NFTs”).

Valhalla’s “PlayToEarn mechanics will allow users to earn and collect FLOKI tokens by playing Valhalla, thereby making Valhalla a viable way for millions of people to generate an income.”

Players “will be able to communicate, monitor each other’s progress, and encounter one another in the Valhalla Metaverse.”

Valhalla is powered by $FLOKI:

Valhalla is designed to take a huge chunk of FLOKI tokens out of circulation and into the Valhalla ecosystem as adoption increases — since FLOKI is going to be the main currency of the Valhalla world. The only way to buy in-game items in Valhalla will be with in-game tokens (which will be FLOKI or can only be bought with FLOKI). Valhalla will also incentivize people to spend FLOKI to advance through the game more easily. This enhances utility and drive actual demand for the FLOKI token.

And here is some information about Valhalla’s development team:

Valhalla is currently being developed by a team of 11 people with combined team experience of over 50 years and plans to aggressively expand to a team of 20 to fast-track development. This team is led by MrBrownWhale, a renowned crypto veteran, NFT expert, and Ether Cards council member, and Jackie Xu, a blockchain veteran who has been in the industry for a decade and has worked with some of the biggest names in crypto.

Valhalla’s Testnet Goes Live

Per a blog post published yesterday (February 28) by the Floki Inu team, the playable Valhalla Alpha Battle Arena Testnet has gone live.

You need to apply to play the Valhalla Battle Arena prototype. The prototype is playable on the Optimism Kovan Testnet.

It seems that “priority on admission in early batches depend on:

  1. Genesis NFT Holder (Ruby/Diamond)
  2. Genesis NFT Holder (Silver/Bronze)
  3. Flokitar Holder
  4. Floki Gemstone Holder (coming in March)
  5. Special Criteria (e.g. professional tester)”

The Floki team went on to say:

This exciting launch of the first playable version of Floki’s flagship Valhalla play-to-earn (P2E) Metaverse game coincides with a major international television campaign, a groundbreaking partnership with Formula 1 racing legends Alfa Romeo, and numerous other collaborations and initiatives that signal our collective push to make Floki a household name in 2022 and beyond.

We believe the combination of meme power, community, charity, crypto and gaming has world-changing potential, and Valhalla is at the heart of all of this. P2E gaming has already proven to be resilient to bear markets, with the potential of staggering returns for early investors and income for day-to-day players.

It should be pointed out that this playable testnet does not support the play-to-earn model and that the main purpose of this Alpha is “for testing and further development toward the release of the complete, play to earn version of Valhalla.”
