Grupo Cinco, one of largest entertainment / nightlife companies in Paraguay has announced that it is going to take “a step into the future” by starting to accept select cryptocurrencies ($BTC, $ETH, $CHZ, and $SHIB) across all of its business units from July.
What was interesting about its June 17th announcement was which cryptocurrencies it is going to be accepting as means of payment in the venues it owns/operates. Bitcoin and Ethereum are obvious choices; less obvious are Chiliz ($CHZ) and Shiba Inu ($SHIB), which are two of the three cryptoassets that on June 15 Coinbase announced would soon be listed on Coinbase Pro, its trading platform for professional and/or experienced investors and traders.
However, this is not all the crypto news that has came out of Paraguay this month.
On June 7, Congressman Carlitos Rejala tweeted that Bitcoin is going to the moon.
Then on June 14, Rejala tweeted that Alta Gracia Parque Hotel is accepting crypto ($BTC, $USDT, $BUSD, and $DOGE) payments.
Then, on June 17, the day that Grupo Cinco made its announcement, Congressman Rejala tweeted that next month he plans to introduce Bitcoin-related legislation.
And finally, on June 18, he tweeted that Universidad Comunera (UCOM) is now accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment.
