Recently, Kraken Co-Founder and CEO Jesse Powell talked about Bitcoin and the upcoming Coinbase IPO during an interview with Emily Chang on “Bloomberg Technology” (a daily show on Bloomberg TV).
With regard to Bitcoin, Chang reminded Powell that during their last conversation, he had said the price of Bitcoin is going to infinity. This time, Chang wanted to pin him to a specific price that Powell expected to see by the end of this year.
Powell replied:
“I think I said Bitcoin is going to infinity, and that’s kind of hard to comprehend because I’m measuring in terms of dollars and it might be easier to understand if we measure it in terms of Teslas, like now one Bitcoin for one Model 3 or probably by the end of the year, I think it’ll be one Bitcoin per Lambo and probably by the end of next year, it’ll be one Bitcoin per Bugatti…
“To me and to the crypto community, I think those kinds of assets make it easier to measure Bitcoin against because you never know where the dollar is going to be there, there could be ten times as many U.S. dollars out there a year from now. So, it’s really hard to measure Bitcoin against the dollar.“
In 2021, the cheapest new Lamborghini is the “Lamborghini Urus“, which starts around $232,000.
