bitFlyer Europe, the European subsidiary of Japan-based cryptocurrency exchange BitFlyer that was launched in January 2018, announced on Tuesday (September 24) that it had added support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Lisk (LSK), and Monacoin (MONA).
Until 30 July 2019, bitFlyer Europe’s website only provided a Bitcoin trading service — called “bitFlyer Lightning” — that “acted as a BTC/EUR marketplace between traders”. But on that day, bitFlyer Europe announced the launch of its Buy/Sell platform that provided a much simpler interface for retail customers in European Union to buy Bitcoin with euros.
Andy Bryant, the COO of bitFlyer Europe, had this to say at the time:
bitFlyer Buy/Sell is a virtual currency exchange for everyone – with simple two-click buy and sell capability. Not only is bitFlyer Buy/Sell easy to use, but with us users have the confidence that they are using a trusted, regulated platform with long-standing global heritage.
In a press release shared with CryptoGlobe earlier today, bitFlyer says that from today users of the Buy/Sell platform in Europe can buy and sell five additional digital assets: Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Lisk (LSK), and Monacoin (MONA).
As for customers of bitFlyer USA, the bitFlyer subsidiary that launched in November 2017, its customers will now be able to buy and sell Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), and Ethereum Classic (ETC).
Bryant stated:
By adding new altcoins, we are expanding bitFlyer’s Buy/Sell offer significantly, giving our customers instant access to some of the largest and most exciting altcoins in the world. Those currencies were previously only available to our Japanese customers, so we’re also consolidating our offer across regions, building a global platform for traders all over the world.
