Ben Burns, a designer at the 0x project, a San Francisco-based startup focused on the development of a protocol for trading crypto tokens, has published a blog post in which he revealed that an a update has been released for the 0x Launch Kit.
According to Burns, the 0x Launch Kit is a “definitive resource for building a crypto market” as it includes various useful features such as “off-the-shelf” React UIs. These can easily be integrated into non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces and orderbook relayers, Burns noted.
Launching Marketplaces in “Just 1 Line of Code”
Burns, a Digital Design graduate from the University of Cincinnati, mentioned that adding the latest frontend templates would allow both businesses and software architects to “launch a [cryptoasset] marketplace in just 1 line of code.” The template developers have also merged both frontend and backend components into “a single Docker container” which can be used to develop a customized digital asset exchange, Burns explained.
Blockchain developers can easily fork Launch Kit’s “fully-featured” relayer codebase and then deploy to mainstream Cloud-based services such Digital Ocean, Microsoft Azure, and AWS, Burns noted. He also pointed out that the Launch Kit can be used without having to “deal with any of the technical overhead” of integrating other software programs with the 0x protocol.
Fully Open-Source, Audited by ConsenSys Diligence
Furthermore, Burns wrote (in a Medium post published on May 29, 2019) that the Launch Kit is fully open-source and it is has been developed using 0x protocol native smart contracts – which were recently audited by ConsenSys Diligence.
As detailed in Burns’ blog post, the most notable features in the Launch Kit are:
- “React UIs for ERC-20 and ERC-721 (NFT standard for Ethereum) tokens”;
- “Market and Limit Orders”;
- “Automatic Order Validation”;
- “Order Status Notifications”
- “Dutch Auctions for ERC-721 tokens”;
- “Standard Relayer API for Sharing Orders”;
- “Wrapped ETH Abstraction for Easy Market Buys”;
- “Support for all Web3 Wallets”
0x Launch Kit Launched in November 2018
More than 800 blockchain developers have reportedly cloned or forked the 0x Launch Kit to launch cryptoasset prediction and derivatives markets, in-game items, and labor tokens.
Commenting on the latest release, Burns wrote:
[The 0x project developers] have been listening to developer feedback and iterating on Launch Kit’s feature set since it was released in November 2018.
He revealed that one of the most frequently requested features was the ability to develop UI templates to “eliminate the need to design a frontend.” As noted by Burns, this is particularly useful for blockchain game developers and digital artists who want to quickly set up a market for their NFTs.
