John McAfee is no stranger to presidential elections, having sought the Libertarian Party nomination in 2016 before losing out to former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson.
McAfee has declared his intentions to try again for the Oval Office in 2020, but has been somewhat quiet about his political ambitions until recently, when he polled Twitter followers about his party choice.
The cryptocurrency enthusiast asked if he could still find support if he decided to run in 2020 at the forefront of his own party, instead of the Libertarian one.
A Campaign On The Horizon?
The poll closed with around 7,748 votes, and 57% of respondents said they would follow him in the next election if he ran under his own party.
For my followers who are members of the Libertarian Party only: If I decide not to run again under the Libertarian banner, but instead form my own party, would any if you follow me in 2020?

Recently, McAfee Tweeted out an article from CryptoNewsReview that had “notes on my second upcoming Presidential run.”

He has not been shy about some of his political beliefs, having spoken about the cryptocurrency industry in the age of President Trump in an exclusive August interview with CryptoGlobe.
In the interview, McAfee noted how he thinks President Trump would be pro-crypto once he starts getting into it, and also shared his thoughts on how the overall administration is aiding cryptocurrency and its adoption “way more than any democratic administration would help.”
A Man of the People
In the above two Tweets posted by McAfee, he also took time to respond to followers making statements and asking politically-slated questions.
Most of his replies were thanking people who said they would follow him, but he also agreed with one commenter who said the most important thing would be to “use the platform of presidential debate to discuss cryptocurrencies.”
McAfee also said how he would “not take the job even if I won,” writing how presidents “become puppets the day they take office.” Instead, he mused the process of electing a president is what “changes the country” due to the massive stage a candidate has.
Responding to another commenter who asked where to donate, McAfee asserted how “I will need no money, but thank you. I only need open minds.”
